What's Behind One-Minute News

If you're one of those people who couldn't care less about what goes on in the world, maybe you should check out the BBC's one-minute world news updated 24 hours a day. But you'd be missing the really good stuff BBC has to offer like a behind-the-headlines piece headlined Could 19th Century plan stop piracy? It's all about a 19th century British Prime Minister who advocated gunboat diplomacy and Commodore Stephen Decatur, who made short work of the Barbary pirates off North Africa in 1815, and how things have changed. By the way, the US Navy just pulled off a daring rescue of the American sea captain. You could be following this story online, but maybe you'd rather wait for the movie. Who would play Capt. Richard Phillips?

"One minute news" is good to know the important news and it is like the news roundup or news flash. But, as you said we will miss the details of the stories which may unveil important facts. However, this "one minuet news" is good for the busy people and through it they may watch a news that interests them and if they want to know more about it they can find out more information. This may save their time rather than watching an hour long news with long details.

But in many stories we need to know the details that explains the news, it’s background and it’s follow up news otherwise we will just take the headlines with no idea about the news. Like, in the piracy news we need to know some information about the pirates themselves, where they came from, their beginning, their movements and strategies and the history of the piracy in Africa to understand the current news about them. And, "one minutes news" will miss all that.

I think that one minute news is good because you can quickly know what happens around the world. Especially for the people who don’t like the news a lot. In my point of view, it’s boring to know everything in the news because the news will never end and one minute news is better to have general information about the world.

I agree with what Ahlam, Huda and Khawla said.
1 minute news is suitable for busym lazy or careless people who don't read or watch news alot, bu 1 minute news they get a small brief of whats going around even if they didn't know the details, but maybe these briefs or titles may make them be curious and may follow the news and know its details
