Once Upon A Time in Book Publishing...
Welcome to Fall Semester 2009. We've already started talking about technological revolutions in international communications and how Gutenberg's moveable-type printing press in the 15th century changed not only how manuscripts were reproduced but also changed our world. By the end of the 20th century, book publishing had acquired all sorts of new tools, including the typewriter. Have you ever seen a typewriter ? Read what a retired book publishing executive and literary agent says about the last century when "When Book Publishing Had Scents and Sounds." How many of the items she mentions have you ever used -- or even seen?

I agree her when she said our lives changed she mentioned a lot of tools that play an important rule nowadays because without these tools we will never develop. she talked about the phone and blackberry and im one of who addicted to it because i did all my work work and read my important emails from it. i never really seen a typewriter in my life or use it i born with technology tools such as phone computer and so on
From what the article mentioned I have only used today's technology that we are used to. Emails, text messaging and online media are the ones I am mostly familiar with. Reading about the technological developments, and seeing the ones happening today makes me wonder what else the future has for us. today we can send long messages, pictures and information to anywhere around the world. What will we be able to do tomorrow? Perhaps through some mind thought copying machine? It could sound impossible, but 100 years ago whoever thought anything we have today is possible.
The only typewriter I think I've seen was when I was a kid in my grandfather’s office.
When I think of all the changes that have occurred- there have been many changes. Even when I was growing up we had some pretty unsophisticated mobile phones and in a few short years we are now dependent upon our Blackberries for keeping up with things instantly. Even computers have improved dramatically over my lifetime. Another technological advance that affects my daily life is the use of digital photography.
Personally I think I've enjoyed seeing and keeping up with all the technological changes and look forward to seeing even more changes in the future.

That's totally true!!
technology really changed our world and developed it. when i was 10 years old, i remember we used to have typewriter in the house. but, within more few years we replaced it with computers and nowadays, we do not even need PC's with all the technology which leads us to have little computers in our pockets !
world is developing really FAST !
