Don't Cover Insurgency, Afghan Officials Say

Last Friday may be the last time anyone sees live coverage of firefights in Kabul. Afghanistan's intelligence service told reporters Monday that the press will no longer be allowed to cover Taliban attacks while they are in progress, because such coverage "does not benefit the government." Even to film the aftermath will require permission from the intelligence service.

Expect protest from both foreign and Afghan journalists, who believe people have the right to know what is happening in their world.

People want to know all the facts on the ground whenever security incidents take place. It is not good to ban the media of covering those things.

well.. it is true that people want to know everything happening in the world but they do have a point in banding the media coverage for the sake of their country security. Maybe they will allow the media coverage when everything will settle down there.

People have to know the truth and whats happening around them as a a citizens or even one world. it's not a reason to say that banding media coverage is for others safety. people have the right to see facts instead of spreading gossips.

Media should not band important information from people, because people want to know the facts . Sometimes as Noura said they have to band media covering to save the country reputation and security.

I think that media should cover everything important because people must know about what’s important in life and what’s new. This is the world news that people want to know and if what’s happening is the truth, then it has to be published.
