Are You Surprised?

Checking my Yahoo mail just now, I spotted a news flash on the Yahoo homepage: Dubai gets surprise $10 billion lifeline - A last-minute infusion of cash keeps the glitzy city-state from plunging deeper into crisis .. Who came to the rescue..."

Did I check to find out? You bet. Was I surprised? Hardly. How about you?

Oh, I haven't mentioned the name of the knight in shining armor. Click HERE for the AP story sent out by Yahoo! Finance

What's the word on the street (read: gossip) on your BlackBerry?

Am not surprised !
Abu Dhabi said that they will help dubai with some conditions. but the question is how far would they help them ??
Dubai world had played an important role in the stock market and when it was hit with Dubai current situation, a lot of other companies was in a very sensitive and shaking situation.
people around the country are talking and gossiping about this issue, some people did not support Abu Dhabi in helping Dubai and others think that Abu Dhabi and Dubai are brothers and should help and support each other all the time.

will this issue create a conflict and sensitivity between the citizens of each state??? i hope not .. but that is what they are gossiping about.

wow, what a missed opportunity. with all that money invested they could have really made themselves a great civilization. instead they make a flashy playground.

All I can say is if you are going to build a place like this, make sure you have the financials figured out BEFORE you start! but i am glad to see that they saved the city with the bailout

Everything I hear is pretty positive, thank god. Abu Dhabi citizens are very glad to know that they are helping Dubai. I keep getting broadcasts about how we are proud to stand next to each other in a time like this. I just wonder what the "dubains" are saying and "broadcasting" about this situation.

actually i am surprised
not that they gave them money but about the amount they gave them as Dubai's current debt amounts to 26bn
so why just 10 bn
and Dubai should face up to reality they cant eat their cake and keep it they can liquidate some assets such as one of the hotels
and why cant mohamad bin rashid pay from his own assets he has billions he dosent need abudabi's money

That's typical of us. Dubai will drain all the money out of Abu Dhabi gradually and Abu Dhabi will follow Dubai's mistakes instead of the other way round. Giving them those 10 bn dhs is like throwing the money in a deep sea. There's noway Dubai will recover from its situation. Instead of Saving Abi Dhabi's money for the future's generations, they decide on helping Dubai out. Abu Dhabi is like an older brother to Dubai " a spoilt brat". They should be left to learn a lesson. Giving them a lot of toys to play with will bore Dubai and more mistakes should be expected.

Really I am not surprised. Because we are muslim from one country. even if we are from different cities but still named as Emirati. If Abu Dhabi don’t help Dubai?? Who will help them?? West media take advantage of Dubai situation and make a lot of stories about its economy which make a negative image of UAE. So, Abu Dhabi make a good move to help its neighbor in its crisis.
