"Too Dubai"

Dubai is taking its hits in the international media. The Wall Street Journal in its weekend edition did a Q&A with Anna Wintour, Vogue editor on "why 'value' is in and 'too Dubai' is out." Wintour contends that people want to look understated in these troubled economic times. "I don't think anyone wants to look overly flashy, overly glitzy, too Dubai, whatever you want to call it. I just don't think that's the moment. But I do feel an emphasis on quality and longevity and things that really last." And that just may be Abu Dhabi! Back on October 31, this blog discussed the suave image Abu Dhabi is presenting to the world. I think that Dubai had took it chance and it reached the world. its time for Abu Dhabi the CAPITAL of the UAE to be the number 1 as it's should be from the beginig .. many projects are coming Up ..

Dubai was thinking about Shopping,Festivals and the tallest BURJ, Tourism .. Abu dhabi is talking about more Tourism , buisness , investments and have "more active role in the international financial community"

and at last everything take it's Turn and chance .. nothing last for "FOREVER"

what i wrote is a personal opinion

It may be a "personal" opinion -- most opinions are, but I bet it is shared by many people here in Abu Dhabi. The challenge now will be to avoid mistakes Dubai made and in the process establish a "world-class" image for all the Emirates. Exiting times ahead for you all!

If Abu Dhabi wants to be the "number 1", it shouldn't do what Dubai did. It should take its time and make smarter decisions in terms of its economy. Hopefully we WILL learn from Dubai's mistakes, and move forward (and hopefully helping Dubai to move forward too).
