Hassan Fattah Talks to Columbia J-school Students

Hear what Hassan Fattah, former New York Times Middle East correspondent and now deputy editor of The National, had to say to students at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York City. Hassan Fattah and I received master's degrees from the school. The international news criticism class will be at The National today.

I don't think the video is really clear, but I remembered his speech in ZU when it was the annual celebration of the CCMS. It was a very good speech about journalism.
I met him at The National, and I observed the way he works. He is always observing his team and deals with them in a very friendly way. The nice thing about him that he is originally Iraqi! In other words, he is an Arabic man.

I think that I saw him at the national during the trip. It is such a pleasure for us to have him work at The National, our local newspaper.

He came to last year's CCMS reflections dinner, and gave a good speech. As i noticed behind him a mobile, passport i think? and a pencil, he talked about those stuff at ZU too. That those are the important gadgets that a journalist needs, but instead of the passport, his little daughter's picture was there, to remind him of his family, and the pencil so he can write and nothing stops him (unlike pens), and a mobile charger, because it cannot be found anywhere. Hmm, interesting thoughts he had.
