When I logged on to my Yahoo account this morning, I found a message from the Sierra Club, an international environmental non-profit, inviting me to go to txtoutthevote.com to have free text messages sent to friends, reminding them to vote Tuesday in the U.S. presidential election.
New research shows that texting is a particularly good way of reaching the young. Image how "txting" could be used in international campaigns for causes or products. Of course it doesn't do much for the English language.

Texting is the only way that I can stay in touch with my friends, at home. university, anywhere. Its much easier, even new technology such as Blackberry or Iphone has its own small keyboard to allow easy texting.

I get very annoyed by commercial sms! every day or another a shop is on sale or has launched their new collection line!
I think etisalat should ban these kinds of msgs!
I think its obvious why they would use sms ..even on tv shows there is a big use of mobile phones where its easy to access the internet too. For example, a show called "Gossip Girl" relies heavily on the use of mobile phones and spreading gossip through sms and a website of the show also advertises a lot of the phones used on the show.
Our generation is addicted to text messaging. We just love it, its quick and you can reach people at any time. Imagine the one you want to talk to is busy in a meeting, if you tried calling them of course they wont answer you. On the other hand, if you text message them, you might get a reply.
I think texting is starting to be important, especially among teens. Even when it comes to TV programes, before people used to call if there was something to talk about, now, in almost every channel, we see this running tape which contains chats, and on the side, numbers to send your text messages on!
having it as a reminder of the elections, or any important events, is a great idea.

This actually remains me of one of my friends who is studying with me in Mr. Lyall Class (Research Methods) .. she chose to focuses in her study on Texting and did it really delver the emotion honestly or not .. and did it consider as a way of communication for this generation or it is a simple way to destroy the relationship between people and prefer to send them messages rather than meeting them face to face .. quite interesting .. but for me personally I think it depend on how we are using this kind of technology .. and I do believe that SMS can be really something very helpful at some point
Texting msgs is what i like doing most of the time. sometimes i spend a whole day just using my cell phone texting my friends . i believe that the "text msgs" technique is one of the greatest things i enjoy doing
